I thought I had seen something about indoor swimming pools before in my trivia writing. According to this website, the first indoor swimming pool was built in London in 1743. (See the section Swimming Timeline)

Thanks. Fixed. It seems that 1742 is the right year (I can see how the length of the pool, 43 feet, could have confused someone).
