Thanks in part to the huge success of the movie
Slumdog Millionaire, which recently hauled in eight Oscars including Best Motion Picture of the Year,
Who Wants to Be a Millionaire will be returning to prime time this summer.
Tryouts are this month, but unlike in the good old days, you will have to pay your own way to New York City if you want to audition. The tryouts are for both Meredith Vieira's syndicated version and Regis Philbin's 10th Anniversary Network edition, and although you can't choose, the million-dollar first prize is the same either way (as far as I know at this point).
When you request an audition slot, you can specify your top two preferences for any day from May 18th to 21st or 26th to 28th (5 p.m. to 7 p.m.).
The show really needs a grand prize winner, so I'm sure they'll be doing whatever they can to make sure it happens. Good luck!
